the AIS Training Center and technical institute is a heavy equipment operator and technician training center located at the AIS Construction Equipment Corporation’s Lansing, Michigan branch

We welcome individuals from business and industry and college and high school students to obtain a hands-on understanding of the heavy equipment industry through tailored programs in the areas of heavy equipment operation and repair.

The AIS Training Center offers Business and Industry comprehensive, customized and professionally delivered heavy equipment technology and operation and safety at our location or at your site to meet your employee training needs. Our Factory-Certified Instructors provide unparalleled hands-on training to both internal and external customers.

The Training Center’s AIS Heavy Equipment Technical Institute (AIS-HETI), is a State of Michigan licensed post-secondary school offering programs in Heavy Construction Equipment Operation (HCEO) and Heavy Construction Equipment Technology (HCET). Upon completion of these programs, student will earn a Certificate of Completion and have the knowledge and skills to enter into the exciting world of heavy equipment operation or repair.

AIS-HETI is accredited by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER). Students completing the technician training program at AIS Technical Institute may take the Technician Certification test through the Associated Equipment Distributors (AED).

In 2000 the Training Center formed a partnership with Eaton RESA to provide heavy equipment training to high school students in the mid-Michigan area as part of their high school day. Since then, the Center has developed partnerships with Allegan County Education Service Area, Richmond High School, Bay-Arenac ISD Career Center, Gaylord Community Schools Center Line Community Schools and most recently, Ionia County Career Center. We now stand at the beginning of many students paths into the heavy equipment workforce by training nearly 400 students a day.

In addition to the Institute, the Training Center partners with Lansing Community College and Oakland Community College in offering an Associate’s Degree or a Certificate of Completion in Heavy Equipment Repair.
