The L-Series Backhoe Certification course is a 3 day instructor-led course. A combination of approximately 20% classroom and 80% hands on is used. Service procedures including special tools, adjustments, testing and diagnostics of the backhoe family will be completed during the hands-on portion of this course. The purpose of the Backhoe Loader Capstone is to verify knowledge and skills of the John Deere Dealer technician. Verification will be determined by both a hands-on and written style test and validated with an 80% or higher score. Upon successful completion of this instructor led training event, the technician will be deemed certified on the current series of Backhoe Loaders. Certification yields reimbursement for a technician’s diagnostic time spent on an in-warranty machine and also develops individuals that are the best technicians to represent John Deere, their Dealership, and support the Customer and their business needs with Backhoe Loaders. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1) Efficiently and effectively diagnose and repair machine issues on John Deere Backhoe Loaders. 2) Demonstrate the knowledge and ability to perform proper diagnostics using correct diagnostic tools and equipment. 3) Properly service and "tune-up" machines to enhance customer's machine performance. The dealer technician is expected to be: Knowledgeable on all machine systems currently used on John Deere Backhoe Loaders and proficient in reading and interpreting hydraulic and electrical schematics, the use of diagnostic testing equipment, and the use of Service Advisor as a diagnostic tool and source of information. Technicians MUST have their OWN laptop, the current version of Service Advisor, and latest data disks.
